The Surgery, Day 12

NaPoWriMo, Day 12

Some-Senses Poem

The surgery is dimly-lit
Its cool twilight scares me to stiffness
Green paint peeling right around the windows
Right from the ceiling
Or so it seems to me,
          projection of me
peeling an ugly nightdress off my body
peeling my feet bare of so-so slippers
my last protection in the dim coldness of the room.

The surgery is dimly-lit
Its windows miserably covered
By half-blind blinds – broken, twisted, unreliable
Can I actually see the block of flat across the street?
Is there someone, eyes squinting, binoculars in hand
To watch the dimly-muted show?
Or so I think
            because of my
            stiff nakedness
the lack of human eyes inside the room
the cold ring on the silver tray.

The surgery is dimly-lit

Its coldness makes me stiff

Cupcake, Acrostic

The Acrostic Only prompt for Food and Drink in March is CUPCAKE. I tried my hand at a Septilla. Just for the record, there are many nice septet forms. I found it hard to pick one. I am not a great lover of cupcakes, but can’t deny they have appealing looks 🙂

friday, the thirteenth – small stone

The river of stones keeps flowing:

“it is friday, the thirteenth. who can ignore it. i heard a man of power speak rubbish and felt ashamed. i cried for the girl who had died in so much suffering and pain, who had met her end in miserable solitude in the cold company of wickedness. i hardly did believe it.”

Journey beginning
The suns smiles gently outside
Numb with cold. Thrilling.

My small stone of 1st Jan. 2012

OK, it is already 2012 and I am setting off on a River of Stones.

Before writing my small stone, I will wish each and every one of my blogging, writing, reading and loving friends joy, love, good luck, and a lot of success in the year 2012!

Here is the small stone:

“The sun caresses my eyelashes behind the window, but going out, I regret not putting on a hat. Further down the street, I start regretting not taking a thicker shawl. When on the children’s playground, I regret I went out in the first place.”
