Endings To Beginnings

Another Sunday, another interesting prompt on the Poetic Bloomings website. The topic of endings and beginnings, and their interrelation is really intriguing. Is the beginning of something the ending of a process or a state of things? How do we decide whether an event is the end or the start? I suppose, it depends of which side of the river we are on, figuratively speaking. So, here are two poems I penned on this prompt, and the second one is a Shadorma.

Endings to beginnings

Night ends the day,
Dusk cuts the light,
A wrong will destroy the right.

But the beginning of healing
Isn’t the end of all disease.

Are endings more powerful
or it is a trick of false beliefs?

The End – A Shadorma

The end starts
Only when we quit
Beginning.

The end comes
Uninvited in our hearts
Through their gates ajar.

Beginning, April PAD Day 1

It is April again and the Poem-A-Day is in full swirl. This year, Robert really rocks 🙂 Just hop over to Poetic Asides and see what I mean. He has invited judges for each day who will choose a poem a day to include into this year’s Poem Your Heart Out anthology. Well, that’s the short of it. You can find the details, plus info on the judges here. The general guidelines are as usual, no need to go too deep in them. So, I think it’s time to start off poeming.
Here is my April PAD, Day 01 – A Beginning Poem; An Ending Poem

What I won’t miss
is the clumsy lump
blocking my throat
in the beginning.

What I expect is
blessing for my nervousness
springing from the timid
welcomes of tomorrow
and the weeks to come.

What I get,
definitively,
is the sure ending
hurting,
or liberating me.

I never know which to prefer
So, I try not to.
