The two lines come from annell
The Big Tent Poetry is taking leave. Its farewell prompt was to use two lines by another poet and make our own poem. Here is what I wrote:
***
The difficulty
Of squeezing an elephant
Through the eye of a needle
is comparable to
the difficulty
of making your child
go this way, instead of any other.
As parents know.
Which one is more practicable?
I wish I knew for sure.

There speaks a frustrated parent: join the club!
Viv – thanks for the understanding! The Club, yeah! 🙂
Well I am sick about it! I love Big Tent Poetry and the prompts you have provided! It is like the loss of a good friend!
As a parent myself, I completely agree. A simple truth.
I believe this speaks to many mothers, Mary.

Frustration has created more clubs than imaginable. I understood perfectly and immediately wanted to sit down and have a cup of something with you.

Oh, I can definitely relate! Good one!
Once they’re raised, these moments become wonderful points of discussion. Family life does help us grow, doesn’t it?
True, true that. I’m wearin’ the t-shirt. Great job.
🙂
Thank you, Deb, Kim, Laurie, Elizabeth, Pamela, Lindsay, annell and Henry :-)! You made my day! I’m happy so many fellow-poets liked what I wrote!
