Whirl of Timid Phantoms

A decent wordle was prompted yesterday at the Sunday Whirl:

Image: Sunday Whirl

***

Birds picking at the dry wood

Announce the hour has struck.

Up along the rocky hills

Sweep phantoms

Not daring to walk through new house walls.

Although we never hesitate,

Leaping across the brook divide

Between now and forever,

Demands from us exceeding efforts.

We still prefer to stick to the hollow

Contract of security.

  1. I like the way you portray a certain hesitation to answer the call of adventure. I guess many people (myself included) accept the “hollow contract of safety” instead of risking a confrontation with the outer world or with one’s inner demons.

  2. Robyn and Andra, thank you both for reading and your comments. Sadly or luckily, safety is often one’s chosen path, me included. 🙂
