Today, I found the time to visit one of my favourite prompt sites – D’Verse, and here’s what I wrote to their Tuesday Poetic prompt:
Let Me Take You To The Forest Of Our Youth
Again, and stay there with you under the dark green
Branches of the trees and relish
our kiss.
The trees look eternal, so does our love.
The grass we step on is a mixture of softness and pricky-ness.
The air – rich in odours and slumber, full of terrors and wonders.
The forest of our youth, beyond which nothingness rules
Where we don’t care to walk or look for friends
For all we need is here, under our feet and in our hands.

Thank you for joining us, Mariya, and for sharing this delightful poem. Who wouldn’t enjoy a kiss under dark green branches? Yes, all we need is ‘under our feet and in our hands’.
Oh, Kim, it’s so sweet of you! Thanks for commenting!
I like the idea of the forests of our youth as being filled with both terror and wonder. It’s so true. Thank you for your lovely poem.
Very nice. The poem felt breezy like a soft kiss as the wind blows through the branches. ?
Your poem bring up both the frightening and soothing aspects of the wood that makes me think that it is like a relationship
Wonderful poem, Mary!
