Theatre

I decided to make my own prompt list for July. I have been away from my blog and from writing for a long time. The April poetry month remained in my paper notebook and I never found the time to post the poems online. All the hassle around me writing my master thesis simply absorbed every minute I might have used for writing. Besides, writing at work and writing my thesis made up enough writing for me. I just didn’t feel the need to write any more words. Of course, I could feel change of wind was coming my way. Tomorrow I’m off to defend my thesis and then, together with my family, we go to a nice place to take a rest. So, I somehow got the idea that the month of July should be celebrated in a way. By writing. But, there are no challenges during July. No poetry ones, that is. So, I had to make my own. This morning I just took my April notebook, as it still has many empty pages and made a random list of prompts. They are not necessarily poetry prompts, but what else could I offer? I’m too tired to write long forms. I’m too lazy to make the effort and take pictures. I am a poet. The is a requirement with the prompts, too. All stuff I write to a prompt should fit on 14 lines or less, because that is how many lines the pages in the notebook have.

Actually, anyone who would like to follow the prompts and join me in this challenge is most welcome to do so. Simply comment and leave a link to your post here below. Kindly, link back to my blog when you post your original piece, too.

theatre-julyMy July Oh, my! list starts with theatre.

Theatre of shadows
And beyond them
Sorrow
Filtering through screens
of magnetic fields
Zooming in and out
Till it dims away
Hear my sleepy soul in harmony with eyes
Awake.

Theatrical Wordle

Sunday Whirl comes with Wordle #48 – A Baker’s Dozen

Let’s carry on singing!
And limit the drama
and the gestures of the hand.
The theatre hallways
are always
crowded with
inherent admiration;
and with previous delivery
that follows
the sources of your
theatrical drives.

Reach out for
dramatic crescendo.
Vivendo!
