The plan was to write a sevenling<\/a>, which is a seven-line poem structured in tercets and containing the element of three. Yet, the three-line nature of tercet and the three-someness induced me to make it contain three tercets, so it went out of form. For the Poetic form challenge<\/a> I edited it, leaving out the second tercet. Here, however, I publish it in its entirety.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The liquidators at Chernobyl<\/em><\/span><\/a>,<\/strong><\/p>\n

reservists, workers, coal-miners \u2013<\/p>\n

some eight hundred thousand lives<\/p>\n

–<\/p>\n

Wasted \u2013 some died on site,<\/p>\n

some died within a month<\/p>\n

and others lingered on, oh \u2013 so on,<\/p>\n

–<\/p>\n

Went there for their children<\/p>\n

who could live on, and play, and mourn<\/p>\n

without them even<\/p>\n

–<\/p>\n

While we just profited by it.<\/p>\n
