April Poem-A-Day 18 – Weather

It’s raining over the marshes
and the fog won’t leave.
It has a point to make
and it will stay to see what we do
in return.

It’s snowing in the forest
and the temperatures dissocialize us from
the fairy-tale Christmas mood,
but are plain terrible biting frost.
It wants to see if we know where
to hide.

The dessert is suffering the sand storm
of a lifetime.
Miles to the horizon are hidden
behind the dusty curtain
which grinds my brain
and sprinkles its yellowness
over the imaginary wound
I am weeping over.

Season change

Theme Thursday, March 15 – Season

***
It’s a sentence in a prison – every season.
Locked inside it you will find
weather, climate, temperatures that drop or rise.

Once it’s over,
with a feeling of relief,
simply step on forward
to the next dream of release.

***
Seasons change
and then again
You rearrange
your dress and habits
to suit the outside
with its measures
and bring about
all-seasons pleasure.

small stone #30

By God, the month is almost over and still no #amwriting done in any serious way. That is how you may know that I had a lot of work to do and that I executed numerous responsible and serious business things on my agenda. For instance, I flew to Finland and back, went to a job interview and a written test, sat for three exams from my regular exam session, and handed in three of the five assignments due for this semester. Around all that, there was a lot of travelling done, where I did not lose touch with home thanks to the wonderful B-day present I got from my baby and his family. Apart from travelling, I visited a couple of universities, ex-employers and such, I renewed old friendships and heard from ex-fellow-students and colleauges. I rummaged in a black plastic bag, containing all I had received from my parents’ place after it was sold. That brought me a nice afternoon of sweet and bitter memories. Unfortunately, I did not find there what I needed. Moreover, I found that it contained only about one third of what was mine in that place. That place is the one which appears in my dreams, when I dream, of “home”.

The small stone for the River of Stones of today is:

“Snow and frost, still sunny. The way I wanted it. Now I reconsider, but there is no taking back the weather.”

Two for Tuesday

I picked the title up from the Poetic Asides forum, so it is nothing new. I have been considering twisted Tuesday trend for today, but then gave it up.

Now, as this post must contain two-something, here they are:

One: The weather here is brilliant. All my friends across the Atlantic tweet about snow and/or storms. And here we are happy to announce spring is just round the corner. Hopefully, frost will not have its way again and ruin our bright mood.

Two: The recipes for cookies I got are too hard for me to try. 😉 Adi will surely try to talk me out of this. And she is quite likely to succeed. All I need is just a soft, friendly push into baking 😀 Almost like the one I got for NaNoWriMo.

One again: The sun rises earlier each morning and our drive across the Bridge is getting brighter (until summer comes and we start nagging about the heat).

Two again: The coming B-day party is not the appropriate platform to practice my baking skills. I’ll leave it till the following weekend. And I’ll post a report on the “how far/good I succeeded”.

Until then, enjoy your Tuesday, and hopefully it brings you many twos of niceties.
