Miracles along the road

It’s almost the end of May. After several submissions, it’s time to sit down and write poetry again. Today’s piece comes as a take upon two very nice prompts:

Carry On Tuesday – That long and winding road

Sunday Whirl #58

That long and winding road I take
to see its wonders
back again

Along it, all perspective blurs

Chalk-covered alleys
Drenched with thirst
Rough blizzard scrapes
Them bare
Like a cat’s tongue
Scraping unaware.

I see the burnished flinty rock
Austere and abandoned to collapse
Alone along the long
And winding road.

I see cocoon –
Not brittle, brave
With life within
Not hesitant to scrape those barnacles
That stick to it
And suck its glory.

That long and winding road
I take
to see the rise and fall
of the awake.

Here comes the blues, more of Day 4

Because this is the Poetry Writing Month, we should get poetic and poeming all the time, not observing days, boundaries and strict prompt requirements.

So, here is my answer to the prompt set by NaPoWriMo.net – write a poem that sounds like a blues song. It was a great pleasure:

4. NaPoWriMo.net – Blues song

I found the road to nowhere
I say – the road to nowhere
Oh, baby will you really take me there?

I dream of meeting someone
Oh yes – of meeting someone.
Oh, baby can you really be that one?

I waited for adventure
Just any small adventure
Could you finance that venture?

I also combined this blues with the Being Poetry prompt – write about a road you don’t know 😉
