Benching In The Field

Another episode of ‘long time no see’ and here I come again to Magpie Tales’ poetry prompts, which I enjoy particularly, but haven’t written to for a … yeah, you got it.
Magpie Tales Prompt #189

Waiting in the field
Image: crilleb50 through Magpie Tales blog

***
Imbibing the vernacular
and waiting…
Sitting lonely among the clocks
Expecting quietly to hear
the toll of at least one of their bells.

Smoothly dressed, and neatly ready
for the storm.
It is an open field, after all.
No matter that the clocks may need some shelter.
No matter you may need someone to talk to
or just frown to.

Impaired by the numb activity
of sitting
waiting
and believing.

The river of innocence, the industry of fire, Magpie tale #116

[subscribe2]Magpie Tales #116

Are those tops
I see
the ones of buildings
plants
of industry
that glow in operative fire;
or treetops
burning sunset red?

Is that river
I see
one of tears
or forgiveness,
maybe one of
innocence
flowing towards
the industry-subjected burners?

All innocence slides off
to banks unseen
to heartbeats unexpected.

Fear not
Appearance will hold
Much muddy water in.

I want to believe

Magpie #108

I want to believe
and never wake up
from believing
that light is ON.

the hungry waves, magpie 95

Here we go again, with the great graphic prompts my Magpie. This is No. 95:

the hungry waves
and their shrill voices,
their clinging teeth
that prick your bosom
will melt away;

no boat to sway
you in its gentle lap
until forgetful minds
caress the sandy shore away.

Woman in rain, Magpie 84

Magpie Tales #84 prompt is Woman in Rain:

Eternity believing in gods

Woman in the rain

Fate at her feet –

Coal-black eyes

Jet-black heat

Standing on the verge

Of a lake of despair

To summon the gods

Of despondent flair

How long till they care?

Black will soak

The rain to bones

Naked will suck

The wetness in draws

They are

Eternity

Believing

In

Gods.

Old books

The picture prompt of Magpie Tales, #66

Old Books

***
Breathing in
the odour of old books,
sometimes sneezing
because of the dust;
yet never releasing
the book
until all is gulped down.

And breathing in
and dreaming of
and weeping over
all wonders
that meet me there.

That odour will soon
be a thing of the past
just like the old books
covered with dust…

How long will the past last?

Jigsaw puzzle, Mag#54

This is the prompt by Magpie Tales:

Trees

And this is my poem:

The ground is firmly shaking

And the treetops are being

taken

apart

Like in a piece of

weird art.
