Circular

Writing a Circular poem for today, Day 7 of the November Poem-A-Day Chapbook Challenge means we have to either write about something circular, or in a circular form, or whatever we prefer to associate “circular” with. This is a great prompt and I enjoyed it very much.

*****

Whenever I reach back

To remember you and me,

Hand in hand, strolling in the park

I have to turn my gaze and see

My little one

Remind me of myself,

Hand in hand with Daddy.

Her lovely chestnut curls,

Her shiny eyes like olives,

Her tiny hand in grip of mine,

Her slender body curled asleep

Just next to me,

Remind me of myself

and you, Dad.

The circle is complete.

Wheels of the bus, Day 25

NaPoWriMo, Day 25

***

Do the wheels of the bus
Roll round and round?

Are you trying to remind me
of those wheels
featuring
in that sweet short rhyme?
Are those wheels
the ones of my fortune
rolling endlessly ahead
never stopping their roll
their run
their smooth and gliding forward
Move
and leave behind
all that chance
has witnessed overboard?

Do I understand
Those wheels
Resemble
The path my scribbling wisdom took?
The tipsy driver
Gets them zig-zag
Through the mist
Of love and moons.

Ah, insatiable you…

Let’s count to ten, Day 20

I am 2/3 through with the challenge. And still holding on 🙂

Poetic Asides – Let’s [blank]

Let’s count to ten
In honour of the ten digits
And the decimal and metric systems
In honour of the notes
In an octave
Eight, plus another two –
Me and you.

Doubt, no doubt…

NaPoWriMo, Day 4

1. Haiku Heights – Doubt

A bird in a bush
Blossoms fragrant, warbling spills
No doubt in her heart

***

No doubt in her heart
But the pure stifling cold of red
Exasperation.

***

Exasperation –
Insanity’s middle name
A bird in a bush.

2. Being Poetry – Uproar

Two boys and a girl
Their parents –
Friends from teenage
Trying to make up for
Time so long
Trying to cast a bridge
Over
Time

Two boys and a girl –
Clatter, clamour
Crush and break
Toys around
Below and above
You step on them
Silence is forbidden

Two boys and a girl
Trying to cast a bridge

Parents too tired to mind
Too happy to reproach
Too deaf to hear.

3. Poetic Asides – 100% something

You are 100% awesome!
I’m 100% there for you!
Are those eyes of yours
100% green?
Or I am only
100% taken in?
100% stunning –
that’s how I see you
100% stupefied –
that’s how I get
when I finally see you
for looking at you
blinds me
100%

Connecting…

“Connections are everything” sets the spirit of the poetic prompt at the Poetry Jam this week. This week is also my first participation there, and I am headed to make it count 😉

Love Poem, (by the way)

Connect with me
Through that thought line
That keeps us both
Awake and waiting
At both ends of the phone line.

Relay to me
Through that hectic confusion
Caused by our sleepless
Caustic mornings after.
Devoid of touching you.
And haunted by frustrated dreams.

Relate to me
Using that old-fashioned
Bunch of flowers
That will invariably die
Uncared for,
Forgotten
On the kitchen table
Where I tossed them
Before I tossed myself
Into your arms

Forgetting thoughts
and phones
and dreams.

Get touched
And stay connected!

I’ll believe it when, Wed #171

The new Wednesday prompt at the Poetic Asides forum, coming under #171 is “I’ll believe it when…”

I’ll believe it when the dawn
breaks on me
to see me
wordless, thoughtless and expensed
Wondering at the redness
of the clouds’ cheeks
And not able to remember
another colour.

Miracle, Shadorma

OSI (One Single Impression) #212 – Miracle

And do you recall the rules of the Shadorma?

***

When I need

a blissful moment,

I only

look at you –

the bliss I find to bathe in.

Miracle.

small stone of 12.Jan

Here is my contribution for the River of Stones, on this 12th day of January:

“people talked. i heard intelligent chat. intelligent chat rustled in the frills of my pride. the vain periphery of my consciousness indulged in the sense of being necessary, wanted, listened to, looked up to, and so much more.”

Addict poem – NovPAD, Day 6

The previous three days I was away and I scratched my poems in a notebook, so I still need to type them in here. That will be later. Now, let’s move to the latest scream and read…

The prompt for Day 6 is to write an addict poem.

*

this sun above will always shine
and we will be forever glued
to gaze at its beginnings
and its endings,
without a thought to miss
just one or two
as I’m addicted hopelessly to you.

It was love at first sight… – Leaf Fall

Carry on Tuesday #126: the opening line from Catch 22 by Joseph Heller “It was love at first sight”

***

It was love at first sight
Handsome god here resides…
Until the second view revealed reality
Where dream was washed away
By all the dirty cups and ash-trays
By filled-up garbage bag and

That amazing rain outside
With leaf fall whirling fire on
And sweeping all I shun into oblivion.
That was love at first sight!
