The Eiffel Tower, November PAD Day 6

November PAD Chapbook, Day 6 – Poem about a person working at a place I’d like to visit

You walk up the Eiffel Tower a hundred times per day
And feel bad about it
And stifle down your dislike
for the magnitude of the symbol.

I come once in a lifetime –
so you are not allowed to smoke, cough, blow your nose…
I should be able to get my experience
in exchange for money.

What do you give to receive money in return?
Normal, everyday work.
No overtime, no exceptional treatment.

The Eiffel Tower is just a metal construction. Nothing special.
You say and continue to pay no attention to what
I pay my 30 dollars on.
