Cupcake, Acrostic

The Acrostic Only prompt for Food and Drink in March is CUPCAKE. I tried my hand at a Septilla. Just for the record, there are many nice septet forms. I found it hard to pick one. I am not a great lover of cupcakes, but can’t deny they have appealing looks 🙂

#F&D Cupcake
C upping my hands
U nder false pretence
P utting chill away
C uddling the reserve
A waiting the rebirth
K eeping warmer ways
E njoying sweet stands

MELANCHOLY – Acrostic (Emotions)

I finally got the rules – for the regular prompts I need to keep a word count on all lines, but who’s to stop me from breaking the rules? 😉 The truth is, I wrote these several acrostics before I realised there were rules and the other thing is I find it hard to alter these poems as yet. Maybe later, aligator 😉

So, here is my offering on the September prompt of Emotions: (strange, this one is almost within the rule, but not quite)

***

Mild waves
Enjoying the
Limitless endevour of
Angry passions
Never truly
Crossing my
Head, but
Only
Lying in wait
Yet to come out and play.

HAS BEEN – Acrostic, Two Words

This is a short Acrostic to honor the Acrostic Only two-words prompt for September:

HAS BEEN

Habitual
Affections
Soaring high

Believe,
Eccentrically, that they are actual
Escapes.
Not likely!

Haste (Acrostic – Single Word)

Recently,  I found this amazing poetic prompts site –  Acrostic Only.  They give monthly prompts consisting of Regular (1, 2 words,  phrase,  children’s corner,  emotion and music & dance) and Innovative prompts which are different each time.  Prompts for September can be found on their web site:  here.

HASTE
Hurry up
And
Save yourself
The
Effort to be slow.

Ecstatic waves to surge up
At ease with dolphins.
