I’m not doing NaNoWriMo this year. But I’m doing the November Poem-a-Day and I plan to make it like the first time. Through! The prompt for today is not a very new one. But when you’ve done it over 10 times, what prompt can be new, I ask? For the formatting, I also plan to leave the poems pure and plain, no images and fancy graphic elements. Just words. P-O-E-T-R-Y.
The Day After
The day after the summer was over
I pulled down my beach towel
From the drying line
I stayed on the balcony, didn’t go to the beach
Didn’t go walking in the park
Didn’t feel like putting on too many clothes
I just stayed on the balcony, sitting on a cushion
Hanging my bare legs between the railings
Observing the people walking down the street
The day after my last sunbathing
I tried to compose my first letter to you
I thought the coincidence was strange
The whole summer was a lonely ride
Towards you
And it all ended with you leaving
That beach towel, in case you wonder,
Was ochre and brown
Horses galloping side by side

Good one, Mariya. I could see each image and feel the ending of the season. I liked it.
Very nice, my friend.
Haven’t had need of a clothesline in 18 years, not since I lived in the family home before we sold it.
